In November 2017 I was hired to edit this Qantas "My Town" project. Film makers from around rural parts of Australia entered a competition in which they were tasked to create a small film highlighting what they loved about their town. Chris from Tamworth ending up winning the competition and Qantas sent a film crew to his home town to create a new film staring him and his friends. Chris Benny was the DOP and he did and amazing job shooting on RED and capturing amazing aerials with the DJI Inspire with Zenmuse camera. A lot of the shots were captured on a vehicle mounted gimbal which created the amazing tracking, dolly and panning shots.
10,000 steps hobart
10,000 steps Hobart
I edited together this cute clip for the Qantas social media team. It covers 10,000 steps throughout the Hobart area including Mt Wellington and the MONA museum. Shot by the talented Stephen Mylonas on a Iphone 6s and a single handed gimbal, I posterized the frame rate to give the clip the time-lapse look
Elements of Byron
This Elements of Byron "family holiday" video was shot by DOP Nicholas Price through Medium Rare agency. I had the pleasure of editing together log footage from the Sony F5 and Phantom 4 drone.

Scholastic - The Bad Guys
I really enjoy animating. Taking 2d images and bringing them to life can be a long process but ultimately the results are rewarding when your finished product works well and your client is stoked.
In 2015 I worked closely with Red Tractor Creative on a series of book trailers for Scholastic Australia. I was supplied with a voice over from the author himself, Aaron Blabey and the illustrations from a few select pages of his children's book "The Bad Guys". I was then tasked with animating each still and editing it all together into a 60-second trailer. I had creative control over colour, sfx and all the animation.
I was delighted when told that Aaron absolutely loved the clip and was very impressed.
Soultraders - Uptown Funk
In Sept of 2015, after much anticipation and god-like patience from my partners behalf, I finally tied the knot with amazing wife. It was one of the greatest days of my life and worth all the blood sweat and tears that we poured into organising it.
Soultraders played at our wedding and made it a memorable experience for all our guests. Despite all the effort put into so many others details about our special day the one thing friends and family always says is "who was that band?" or "your band was amazing!"
I was delighted to put together a teaser clip for the band and took the opportunity to try a "one take" of them performing "uptown funk".
I shot this using the Sony A7S on a ronin M and recorded with the Odessey7q+. Although not RAW the Odessey recording in 422 color allowed me to play with the tint of the lighting in the room and let me crop in for better framing when I couldn't get close enough to each band member.
I animated their logo for the opener and also tracked their band information to the frame to close the clip. Shooting in 4K with 422 colour depth made the camera tracking a pleasure and gave a convincing result once I had added the finishing touches, such as the reflection of the red flashing light .
The Soultraders were great performers and really nice guys as well. Stay tuned for a new take on this style of video as I will be working with the boys again on a similar shoot soon. If you want to get in contact with the guys visit soultraders.com.au
